If you’re a first-time homebuyer you most likely have a thousand different questions running through your head. No doubt, one of the most important ones is this: “What credit score range is best for buying a house?”
The simple answer is there’s no set minimum score necessary for buying a house. Different lenders each have their own factors and qualifications they use to establish the creditworthiness of mortgage applicants.
However, a good credit score range would be 700 or higher. A fair one would be between 650 and 699. Even though anything below 650 isn’t necessarily the best score, it doesn’t preclude you from obtaining a home mortgage.
